APPLE HUNT!
Exciting times in Ms. Fletcher and Mrs. Rawson's Pre-K class! Last week, our little learners dove into the world of apples while practicing their picture and name recognition skills. They had a fantastic apple hunt, where they not only explored but also practiced saying their friends' names!

Let’s help students build a habit of good attendance early & often! #BePresentBePowerful

Happy International Dot Day!
Classes in both our lower and upper elementary schools celebrated creativity and self-expression inspired by the book by Peter H. Reynolds. Students created their amazing dot artwork, showcasing their unique styles for display in the buildings!
In Mrs. Threlkeld's first-grade class, students went above and beyond by designing their dot-day attire at home, displaying incredible creativity. The fun didn’t stop there—everyone participated in various dot-themed activities and enjoyed some delicious dot candy!

Happy IT Professionals Day! We celebrate the brilliant minds behind the technology that keeps us connected and productive. We thank you for your hard work!

TWO DAYS A MONTH
That's all it takes to be chronically absent.
Did you know children can fall behind academically if they miss 10% of school days? Being in school supports students' social, emotional, and physical well-being, and provides students with opportunities to learn, achieve, and reach for their dreams.

Possible Inclement Weather Announcement

What a fantastic day in Mrs. Threlkeld's first-grade class! Our young scholars took their learning to a whole new level with a fun and memorable bonding ceremony for the QU sound. They discovered how the letters Q and U work together to create new words, turning a lesson into a celebration of phonics! It was a great day of interactive learning, laughter, and creativity.

A GOLDEN PERFORMANCE FOR LCSD PRE-K PROGRAM
We are thrilled to share that our LES Pre-K achieved a perfect score of 100/100 on the end-of-year Kindergarten Rate of Readiness.
MKAS2: 25/25 points
CELA: 25/25 points
CLASS: 50/50 points
Congratulations to our amazing Pre-K students and their fantastic teachers. You’ve truly earned your gold!
The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) has established a rate of readiness for each
collaborative site as part of the Effectiveness Evaluation of Early Learning Collaborative and
Other Pre-K Classrooms. The rate of readiness is a score assigned to each site through the completion of specific evaluation tools that assess how children grow academically and developmentally throughout a school year and how the classroom environment and teaching practices support children’s learning.

We've set sail! Thank you to our families, community, OPD, and LCSD for getting us rolling this morning.
As we get used to traffic patterns, the flow will move even better. Thank you for your patience and assistance as we get our students to their buildings safely.
